The client had a bedroom set of rustic lodge pole furniture. He wanted to turn a low chest of drawers into something larger, with space for a small television atop the old chest and storage space above. He also requested something to surprise him in the design. To the traditional rustic design, I added a modern take on an asymmetric crest. This one reflects his connection with the waves of the Pacific coast. Centered on the wave crest is a hand carved monogram of his family name.

Build in progress. I needed beams with similar stress cracks to those already existing in the bedroom set. The beams were locally sourced from Old Santa Fe Lumber in Prescott AZ. Click here for an in depth tour of the construction process for round tenon joinery.
