The clients wanted a coffee table to fit into their Frank Lloyd Wright style house. They provided photographs of the room, showing the strong linear lines and extensive use of oak. This table is designed to mix with the red oak woodwork in place, while the kidney shape relieves a bit of the strong linear sense of the pre-existing woodwork. The two small asymmetric leg-mounted shelves help smooth the lines as well as provide a small storage space without the dust collecting tendencies of a full lower shelf.
