Pleiades table

A star map of the Pleiades star cluster. Each disk in the table top represents one of the nine primary stars of the cluster. The Pleiades refers to the Seven Sisters of Greek mythology. The star cluster includes Atlas and Pleione, the parents of the sisters. The disks portray not only the relative locations of the stars but their relative brightness as seen from Earth. The legs are highly stylized "retro" rocket ships with the engine blast directed to the floor. The disks are cherry and the legs are African mahogany.
